Downloading slows to a crawl lately - Vid. Cable in South shore. When my son downloaded a game he purchased (mass effects updates) from the authorized supplier the internet suddenly slowed to a crawl. When Apache is set to port 80, the download speed slows down considerably as I originally posted, but also it's as if the HTTP data loads in chunks, briefly pausing between each 100KB or so. I can even observe this pause by watching the light on the NIC--it stops blinking momentarily during this pause. But now I'm running download/upgrade speed comparison between my iPod Touch 5th gen and iPhone 4S. For the same apps download file size, using the same wifi network the iPhone is blazingly fast while the iPod slows to almost a crawl! I have no idea why this happens and if this is an isolated defect. When using SSH or TLS/SSL, file transfers in WinSCP are encrypted and encryption is CPU intensive. Either your local machine or your server might not be able to encrypt file transfer stream at the same speed, your connection is able to transfer it. Restore the Cisco IOS to a Router Tech Republic - Free download as PDF File (.pdf), Text File (.txt) or read online for free. SFTP will almost always be significantly slower than FTP or FTPS (usually by several orders of magnitude). The reason for the difference is that there is a lot of additional packet, encryption and handshaking overhead inherent in the SSH2 protocol that FTP doesn't have to worry about.

We have a policy that allows P2P traffic but limits it to 64kbps. On Cisco routers a time difference of greater than 4000 seconds is considered out of range, and prevents the router from syncing to the server. This doesn't apply when you first configure an NTP peer on a Cisco router or at a reload. Cisco Firewall :: Slow FTP Downloads On ASA 5510? Mar 21, 2011. I have one customer who is complaining about slow FTP sessions, and timeouts. Depending on the file size, it gets to about 98% down and hangs. Before you can load an IOS image to your router, you must download the appropriate image from Cisco or purchase it on CD media. You will then need to move the new image into the TFTP directory and ensure that the file is world readable. On Unix systems, you can use the chmod command to do this. Starting with this Universal IOS concept, Cisco introduces IOS licensing. By default, all new routers and switches only need single IOS image file for any purposes. Gone the days when you have to download Advanced IP Services IOS, Advanced Security IOS, or the like whenever you need the router or switch to do certain functionality.
